Bye-Bye Occasions Mini!!

28 Apr

With all the hullabaloo over the retiring list and the eager anticipation of the new catalog, it’s easy to forget that the Occasions Mini Catalog is about to go bye-bye! April 30 is the last day to order from this awesome collection! No pressure! But, if you want something from this catalog and you haven’t placed your order yet, now would be a good time to do it. This catalog really is chock-full of great items. One of my favorites is the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and another is the Blossom Punch. Both are featured in the cards here.

I also LOVE the greeting stamp set, Loving Thoughts. I’m certainly going to miss that Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (That’s why I got myself an extra pack!)! Okay, I’ll refrain from listing everything I love in this mini because I’d be listing everything in the mini! Decide what YOU love and place your order no later than April 30. Order online or get your order to me by email or phone by 9 pm and I’ll enter it that same night. Combine your must-have retiring items with your Occasions Mini Catalog order for the best value on shipping. Remember…if your order reaches $150 in product, you earn Hostess Benefits! WooHoo!

As always, let me know if you have any questions!

Until we meet again…STAY SANE STAMPIN’!

A Lattice Cross

5 Apr

"...not as I will, but as you will."

Card Supplies:

  • Stamps: None
  • Paper: Naturals White; Whisper White
  • Inks:  None
  • Accessories:  Big Shot; Square Lattice Embossing Folder ; Lattice Bigz Die; Stampin’ Dimensionals; SNAIL; Paper Snips; Large Pearl Basic Jewels

To create this card:

  1. Cut 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of Naturals White card stock (#102316, $ 7.50) in half, creating a sheet that is 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2′.
  2. Fold half sheet in half, using Bone Folder (#102300, $$6.95), creating a card front that is 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. If you prefer, score first using the Simply Scored tool (#122334, $29.95).
  3. Cut additional Naturals White card stock to 5-1/4″ x 4″.
  4. Adhere Stampin’ Dimensionals to each corner and the middle of the 5-1/4″ x 4″ sheet of Naturals White card stock; adhere to card front.
  5. Cut Whisper White card stock (#100730, $8.50) to 5″ x 3-3/4″.
  6. Run through Big Shot (#113439, $99.95), using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#119976, $7.95).
  7. Use SNAIL (#104332, $6.95) to adhere to top layer of Naturals White card stock.
  8. Cut an 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of Whisper White card stock in quarters. Take one-quarter sheet and run through the Big Shot, using the Lattice Bigz Die (#115958, $21.95).
  9. Once you’ve got the lattice cut out, look for the cross in the middle of the lattice. See pink highlighted cross in photo below.
  10. Use Paper Snips (#103579, $9.95) — the BEST little scissors in the world, by the way — to cut out your cross. I chose to make mine only 3 sections long but you can make yours 4, if you want.
  11. Dot Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive (#110755, $3.95) — my new favorite adhesive — to the back of the cross and adhere to Whisper White lattice-embossed layer.
  12. Finally, embellish the cross with a single large pearl (#125577, $4.95, Occasions Mini).

Until we meet again…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

And a blessed Easter!

Fun Flowers

26 Mar

I just had to share what I made for the Bedford Area Master Gardeners’ — www.bedfordareamastergardeners.org — spring seminars, held this past Saturday. All of the committee members wore them on their nametags so they’d stand out from the crowd…it worked! The committee loved them…and so did everybody else!

They’re made with fun foam. Can you believe it? I love that I can cut fun foam, wood, fabric, vinyl, cork, and more with my Big Shot dies. Talk about getting your money’s worth. And it was so daggone quick and easy to make these pretty little things!

I just ran sheets of fun foam through the Big Shot, one at a time, of course, using the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die. I used a couple of different shades of pink and yellow, as well as purple and orange, fun foam. Then I mixed and matched the colors to create the flowers you see. Each layer is popped up with several Stampin’ Dimensionals but the fun foam is adhesive-backed so you could peel off the backing and stick them together, if you wanted. I added a Brights Button (available FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration), laced with Lucky Limeade Baker’s Twine (available in the Occasions Mini Catalog until 4/30/12), to each flower, and attached it with a Glue Dot.

These could be made into pins or magnets or package toppers or hair bows or decorations for a nursery or a little girl’s room!

For my purposes, I used a colored paper clip to attach the flower to the name tag. What do you think? Aren’t these flowers fun?
