Silver Glimmer Paper Snowflake

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Day 1 of 10

Check back tomorrow for another handmade Christmas card!

Six Square Inches = One Tree

28 Nov

Merry Christmas!

Here’s a Kathy Original for you! Woot! Woot! It uses the 1″ Square Punch which is 30% off until 1:50 am …that’s just a few hours away! Hint! Hint! It’s only $11.17!

I punched 6 squares from the same sheet of 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The paper pattern sort of gives the impression of garland drapes and little red balls, don’t you think? Okay, so you really have to stretch your imaginative powers! But, it’s pretty, right? I used the little star from the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies set and a little bit of Silver Glimmer Paper to create my sparkling tree topper!

Stampin’ Dimensionals
A perfect stocking stuffer!

A scrap of Soft Suede suffices for the trunk. I used Classic Cherry Cobbler ink with the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes on Very Vanilla Card Stock. The largest Bitty Banners Framelit was the perfect size! Every piece, except for the tree trunk, is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional! In my opinion, they’re a must have for every paper-crafter!

I added a surprise package on the inside. Another square, punched from the paper pack, a little stamped bow atop the package, and a tiny rhinestone — this card is a wrap! I hope you like it!

SIX SQUARE INCH TREE SUPPLIES:

  • Stamp Sets – Teeny Tiny Wishes(W#115370 $36.95, C#127802 $26.95); Joyous Celebrations (W#128066 $22.95, C#128069 $15.95)
  • Card Stock – Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, Silver Glimmer Paper

I’m gonna learn to love these days!

My friend, Robin Merriman, shared this video on her blog this morning! It was just what I needed! I don’t know about you — I suspect it’s the same for most of us — but I tend to get lost in the lists, especially this time of year! I have little slips of paper and notebooks and pads all over my house and car with lists of gifts to buy (and wrap), cookies to make, people to call, cards to send, Christmas dinner dishes to create, and more!

So, I feel guilty…that I don’t get it all done. That I don’t focus on what I should be focusing on. That I’m so caught up in the hustle-bustle of the season that I’m short-tempered and not as loving and kind as I want to be. That I have lost sight of the reason for the season. That I don’t find time to just be still.

As Robin reminded me this morning, “…in all the craziness, all the rushing and madness and losing my mindness remember, God is still God. He is still on His throne. He is holding us tight and loving us every minute of every day. His son Jesus is who we celebrate during this special season and He came not only to bring us salvation, but peace and joy!” How could I say it any better than that?

So, I’m going to keep Robin’s words and the words to Mandisa’s awesome song in my mind throughout Christmas! I’m gonna learn to love these days!

Lovely Labs Christmas Card

30 Sep

Hard to believe it’s the last day of September, isn’t it? Fall is here! It’s cool enough in the evenings now that Oakley and I sat out on our new patio and enjoyed wine and cheese and a fire in our new fire pit this week! Before we know it Christmas…yes, Christmas…will be here! I’ve always felt uneasy at seeing Christmas decorations in the stores before Halloween. But, we’re busy people, and busy people have to plan and prep ahead! So, I’m doing what I’ve had a hard time seeing stores do…getting you to think about Christmas before Halloween!

I’ve got some Christmas cards that I want to share with you. These are cards you can make at my D.I.Y. (Do-It-Yourself) Christmas Cards Classes that I’m offering between now and Christmas. The same 10 cards will be featured at each class, from the first class to the last. Cards are priced a la carte ($1.50-$3.00 each) and include matching envelopes, so you can choose which cards you want to make and how many. Come one time or everytime! I’ll be adding on a card here and there but won’t take any away! Check my calendar to find a date that works best for your schedule and then come on over. Please don’t forget to RSVP though. My next D.I.Y. Christmas Card Class will be Wednesday, October 12 from 1-7. Come for a bit or for the duration…your choice!

Here’s one of the D.I.Y. offerings, a Kathy original, designed with my friend, Kathy, and my other friend, Kathy, in mind:

Card #1: Lovely Labs

Lovely Labs: inside sentiment

I’d love to know what you think about this card…leave a comment. Stay tuned for some of my other Christmas Card offerings!

Until we meet again…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
