Six Square Inches = One Tree

28 Nov

Merry Christmas!

Here’s a Kathy Original for you! Woot! Woot! It uses the 1″ Square Punch which is 30% off until 1:50 am …that’s just a few hours away! Hint! Hint! It’s only $11.17!

I punched 6 squares from the same sheet of 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The paper pattern sort of gives the impression of garland drapes and little red balls, don’t you think? Okay, so you really have to stretch your imaginative powers! But, it’s pretty, right? I used the little star from the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies set and a little bit of Silver Glimmer Paper to create my sparkling tree topper!

Stampin’ Dimensionals
A perfect stocking stuffer!

A scrap of Soft Suede suffices for the trunk. I used Classic Cherry Cobbler ink with the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes on Very Vanilla Card Stock. The largest Bitty Banners Framelit was the perfect size! Every piece, except for the tree trunk, is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional! In my opinion, they’re a must have for every paper-crafter!

I added a surprise package on the inside. Another square, punched from the paper pack, a little stamped bow atop the package, and a tiny rhinestone — this card is a wrap! I hope you like it!

Happy Thanksgiving, Y’owl!

21 Nov

Wishing Y’owl a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thought I’d share this cute little card with y’owl! Did you figure out why I said “y’owl”? Because Tom-Turkey here was created with the Owl Builder Punch! Wouldn’t this be a great pre-dinner craft tomorrow? Have your guests create enough for each place setting at your table(s). Just substitute names for the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment! Let the kids hand-write the names!

Allow everyone to get creative! Use the colors you have! Use the punches you have! Use the paper you have! Let this serve as inspiration but let everyone create to their hearts’ content!

I wish I’d had some Googly Eyes from the Holiday Catalog (p. 27, #127539, $2.50) when I made this card, but I didn’t! *sigh*  If you’ve got some, use them! If you want some of those adhesive-backed Googlies, be sure to order them by January 2, 2013!

Here’s what I used to make this card:

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes

Card Stock: Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Real Red, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

17 Mar
  • Did you know that St. Patrick was born in Britain?
  • Did you know that St. Patrick was a slave in Ireland?
  • Did you know that St. Patrick returned to Ireland as a missionary?
  • Did you know that St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland?
  • Did you know that today we celebrate the feast day of St. Patrick?
  • Did you know that March 17 is the date of St. Patrick’s death?
  • Did you know that Irish legend says St. Patrick taught the Irish  about the doctrine of the Holy Trinity by showing them the shamrock, using it to illustrate the Christian teaching of three persons in one God. For this reason, shamrocks are a central symbol for St Patrick’s Day. (Wikipedia)

Happy Independence Day!

4 Jul

In celebration of our nation’s 235th birthday, we made these patriotic red, white and blue cards at Friday night  K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stamping)! Hope you like them!

Enjoy your day…spend time with family and friends, grill, play outside…but take time to remember why we celebrate this day: Read the Declaration of Independence.

Get well wishes!

Leadership 2011 Swap

I decided this is an appropriate card to share with you today: I’m sick…knocked out of commission for 48 hours by a very nasty intestinal virus! No post yesterday as I was way too sick to even think about getting off the sofa — my landing spot between runs to the water closet!  TMI, right?

On to more pleasant things…like this bright and cheerful get well card! It features the In Colors — Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Concord Crush, and Pear Pizzazz. In addition to the cute stamp set, Morning Cup, which includes images for both coffee- and tea-lovers, this card also uses a sentiment from (You knew it was coming, didn’t you?) Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Punches used are the Modern Label Punch and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch….don’t you love the look of the paper ribbon? The punch punches out both sides at once! Cool, huh?

While I’m on the subject of punches, let me tell you how to create the same look as the one used here with the sentiment. Stamp your image on Whisper White card stock and THEN punch. It’s much easier to center the punched sentiment in the punch window than it is to center the stamp inside the little piece of punched card stock! Try it both ways and see for yourself! To get that Concord Crush frame, simply punch Concord Crush , cut it in half and let each half extend out past each end of the sentiment. Easy. Peasy.

Until we meet again…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Button, Button — Who’s got the button?

8 Mar

I’ve got a very cute, very simple card for you today. It features the Sew Suite Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

card front

To create this card I simply folded a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ sheet of So Saffron card stock in half, so that the fold is on the left side. I topped it with a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Sew Suite Designer Series Paper. Voila! Done!

inside card

Inside the card, I placed three paper buttons, created with the Buttons #5 Sizzlit Die. I used colors — Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink — that coordinated with the Designer Series Paper on the card front. The sentiment –stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink — is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (one of my favorites).

That’s all there is to it! Another very simple card, without much stamping. Hope you like it!

Until we meet again…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
